Surreal couple of days outside here. The subtropical storm in the Atlantic is funnelling all the smoke from fires as far away as Georgia right down to the southern tip of Florida. The last two nights you could see, smell, and taste the smoke. This morning looks clear, but it still smells smokey (not unpleasant, but a little ominous when you know what's going on). It's supposed to clear up over the next few days, but I'm not so sure. The article link above has a pdf map (why not a jpg?) that shows all the fires. There really aren't many near here, but the wind pattern is pushing it all here.
