Cocktail of the Week - Mardi Gras Edition

Mardi Gras Cocktail #1


I've featured several New Orleans drinks in this space over the past year. I've never had a cocktail named Mardi Gras, but I've found 2 that might be pretty good and one more called the Mardi Gras Flasher. Here's the first:

3 oz Lemon Vodka
Chambord
Lemon or Lime Twist

Coat a cocktail glass with Chambord (dump any extra), shake the lemon vodka with ice until chilled and pour. Garnish with a twist.

Mardi Gras #2

.25 oz Southern Comfort
1.5oz Light Rum
.25oz Creme de Bananes
.5oz Lime Juice

Shake ingredients with ice and serve in a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime.

Mardi Gras Flasher
2oz Dark Rum
1 tsp Grenadine
Ginger Ale

Fill highball glass with ice, fill with Rum and Grenadine, top with Ginger Ale.
