Product placement in the DVR era
Thorough review of the rise of product placement over the past several years. The broadcast networks had 100,000 product placements and raked in over $2 billion last year. To some extent it's driven by the coveted demographic consumers being most likely to use dvrs and skip commercials. But, don't think that it's new. It goes all the way back to the Lumiere brothers in the 1890s.
